Hoodia- What Is Hoodia?
Deep in the Kalahari Desert of South Africa grows a prickly like plant called Hoodia that could literally 'take your appetite away'. Although this plant has been gathered and eaten by the local habitants of the Kalahari for probably well over 100,000 years, it was only recently documented as being discovered in the 1960's as a possible appetite suppressant.
The description of this plant is much like a cactus. The color is light green and the stalks have very sharp prickly spines on them. The taste is rather good and there is no known negative affects after eating this plant. Of course the spiked needles will have to be removed before eaten as food but once it hits the system Hoodia reacts with the body as a sort of diet inhibitor.
